Tecomasuche (Cochlospermum vitifolium) is a robust tree that grows from 3m - 17m and presents yellow flowers in the form of clusters. It is distributed from Mexico to South America. Wood is used for fuel, construction, papermaking, and can even be used as a colorant, as it produces a yellow-orange tint. The fiber that surrounds the seeds is used to embroider rugs and fill pillows and mattresses. In addition, the infusion of the bark or leaves has been used to combat jaundice and crushed flowers in cooking to chest conditions. The ground bark is used to cure wounds (CONABIO, n.d.).
